Ecclesiastical Work
Working with churches and their congregations is an important element of conservation architecture, and being part of the journey of a building that has so many layers of history is highly rewarding. Many PCCs are unsure of how to get help and to best care for these often historic and listed buildings. The inspecting architect is an important link between the highly specialised building profession and the congregation.
With her strong connections to the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings, Lucy is well placed to offer advice and guidance on a wide range of repairs, be it stonework, a leaking roof, suspect salts or how to care for an ancient tomb. Commissioning a condition survey is the first step, and can be followed up with a detailed maintenance plan giving guidance for a set time period.
